I love Easter. I love what it symbolizes. One of my favorite Easter Hymns is "He is Risen". Here are the lyrics:
He is risen! He is risen! Tell it out with joyful voice.
He has burst his three day prison; Let the whole wide earth rejoice.
Death is conquered; man is free.
Christ has won the victory.
Come with high and holy hymning;
Chant our Lord’s triumphant lay.
Not one darksome cloud is dimming yonder glorious morning ray,
Breaking o’er the purple easy, symbol of our Easter feast.
He is risen! He is risen! He hath opened heaven’s gate.
We are free from sin’s dark prison,
Risen to a holier state.
And a brighter Easter beam on our longing eyes shall stream.
My favorite verse is the first one. To me it is about hope, and calling us to be happy, because of the resurrection.
Today my mother-in-law, had her annual Easter egg hunt, and since Kraig and I are the only two with out kids, we were the lucky ones to hide all 32 dozen eggs. It is always so much fun to watch the little kids find the eggs, and then open them all to see what their treasures are.
In some ways it is kind of sad for me to watch it all, because I want to have kids that are sharing in the joy of their cousins, and friends.
Anyway, Kraig took some pictures of the eggs before all the little kids got there. So visit the link to see some of his pictures.
