Cerect Lake (Secret Lake)

Yesterday after a very rough week, Kraig and I decided to go to on a short hike. We went up to Cecret Lake, it is up towards the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. The hike to is mostly all uphill, I found out that I am really out of shape. Once we got to the lake though it was really nice. There were a few fmailies there, but over all it wasn't too crowded. Kraig took a ton of pictures, and I took a few. While Kraig was taking pictures I was just sitting relaxing by the lake when I saw some thing that seemed a little odd swimming around in the lake, after looking a little closer Kraig and I saw a ton of salamanders. I was even able to catch one, Kraig took a couple pictures of me holding the salamander, and for those of you wondering, after I had Kraig touch it to feel it, )they feel a little strange, they feel a little rubbery, and almost squishy) I did put it back in the lake.

I love wild flowers, so these were just off the trail. I thought it was pretty it looks like a daisy, I wouldn't be suprised to find out it was in the daisy family. So if any one out there knows what this flower is, please let me know.








I don't know if the snow on this mountain is from last winter, or from the storm that came through last week, but I think it is going to be there for a little while.

Random Going On's

It has been a busy couple of weeks. Last Saturday we went to Silver Lake with Kent, Jillyn, Kristy, and the kids. On Sunday we drove to Vernal and spent the night at his Grandma Pope's house. Here are a few pictures of both adventures, it was a lot of fun.

I thought this was a pretty cool farm house, sorry that I didn't get a better picture, it was just on the side of the highway, so we were moving.

Just Thinking

I have spent the last couple of days sick. Which I hate. Since I have been sick, I haven't been doing much other then thinking. Some times when I start thinking about things, I tend to get a little philosophical.
I have just thinking about the things I want. The things I want to accompish. The problem is I don't know. I have all these dreams of things that maybe fun. None of them seem really possible. There are times I think about writing, but I really don't know that I could; I think about going back to school, I just don't know what is I would go for, I don't know what I would really be good at. I don't really know if there is some "dream" job out there for me, if there is I have no real idea what it is.

A Very Good Sunday

Yesterday we decided that we have had a rough week, and Saturday just didn't go the way we wanted it to, so we skipped church and decided to play a little.
First we went on a very short bike ride up by Alta ski resort, we climbed 200 feet in a very short distance, and it was really rough on me, I almost passed out.
I did get a picture of Kraig on his bike though.

He was going about 32mph, and loving it, he was hoping to go faster but since he left his biking shoes on the kitchen counter, it just didn't happen.
For dinner, Linda & Lonnie took Kraig, Jillyn, Kent, me, and the kids to Fazoli's. It was really fun, and so very nice of Linda to do.

After dinner Kraig and I went up to the mouth of Ferguson Canyon and took some pictures of the sunset. Here are a couple of the ones I took with my little camera (Kraig took a whole bunch more on his big camera, that he may eventually put on his blog).



Also when we parked the car, we saw this

If you look at the bottom of the sign there are a bunch of wasps, and we parked right next to them, fun huh??

Here's what I got McKenna

This is what I got McKenna for her Bridal shower, there are three essentials, a set of mixing bowls, a food chopper, and my favorite the OXO "sauce spoon", and almost all of the ingrediants to make Chocolate Better Than Sex cake, yummy!! The only thing not here is the whip cream that I left in my frigde, oops. It's a good thing they are living kind of close!!

The shower was fun, we had a good time. The family that McKenna use to nanny for in Rhode Island came down for the wedding, their kids haven't seen McKenna in a year, and they really miss her. It was nice to meet them. Anyway, here are some random pictures from the shower.

Just a little showing off...

Well my cousin McKenna is getting married on Friday, and tomorrow is her bridal shower, I went to buy her a card, and decided to make one for the shower on my own. This is what I came up with.



I also decided to center her present around a theme, so I decided to get a couple of recipes to go with her present. I will tell every one tomorrow after her shower what I did for her... but here are the recipe cards I made for her, they aren't wonderful, but I am hoping they will at least pass as cute.





I will update everyone tomorrow when I get the chance on what I did for her.
